    In my communication class we had 3 different groups presenting 3 different topics. It was very interesting to hear others people presentation and being able to educate ourselves with current events. Unfortunately last year was a very hard year for us and we are still living the results of it. One of the biggest impacts we had world wide was the Corona Virus and how it affected the education and society. Some other activities we saw on 2020 was the death of an innocent black man, killed by the police causing society to wake up from the racism that we live in everyday in the United States, but not only in the United States but also in the whole world. 

   

    Racism towards black people have been a thing since thousands of years. One of the main events that reflected towards racism was slavery, happening in the whole world. Thanks to the United States we were able to abolish slavery and most of the world was able to see that this was one of the worst things that humanity has done. In 1971 the Civil Rights Act was signed and it was able to abolish segregation, but this was not enough because society still had the same mind set that black people were different and kept the racism within it. Now we are trying to change societies mindset, we are trying to be better and to strive for better, to stop thinking that people are different because of their color of skin.

   The COVID-19 Presentation was about the changes that society has been through. For example, wearing masks in public, having to stay home for 4 months trying to prevent the spread of the virus and education which was a different presentation. The social aspect has been very different for young people, specially with them not being able to see their friends and not being able to clear their minds from the problems that are going through. Reality has changed, maybe not forever but this will be kept for a long time due to the high mortal rate that the virus has caused. At work we all have to wear masks and also we need to encourage others to do so for the protection of each other. I took the time while I was working of taking a picture of the sign we have to prevent people to coming in without a mask.

    Education is one of the biggest things that have changed due to COVID. Schools closed, classes online and grades have been lower since then. Unfortunately having online classes restricts the student from doing many things for their own sake of their grades. For example one of the most difficult thing that I have to come across in some of my classes is the lack of being able to have easy accessibility with your teacher and being able to ask frequent questions that I have about the assignments or the class in general. Yes, being able to email the professor is good but most of the time I try to understand a subject it is very difficult for the teacher and me to be able to understand each other. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and Co Dependency making it very difficult for me to focus on what I have to do when I have so many things happening around me.
